I PROMISE

Lord, You know my heart and all my desires
and the secret things I'll never tell, Lord, You know them well.
Though I may be young, I see and understand that at times,
like sheep, we go astray and things get out of hand.

So I promise to be true to You
to live my life in purity as unto You.
Waiting for the day when I hear You say
"Here is the one I have created just for you."

Until then, O Lord, I will be content
knowing that true love will come someday.
It will only come from You.
'Cause I have seen the suffering
that loneliness can cause
when we choose to give our love away
withough a righteous cause.

So I promise to be true to You
to live my life in purity as unto You.
Waiting for the day when I hear You say
"Here is the one I have created just for you.

Oh, Kimi, you'll never know how encouraging that was . . . how hard it is sometimes to stay committed to waiting, but the promises of God are far better than anything the world has to offer, aren't they? Keep on keeping me accountable, girl!

Sorry to be technical- but you need to give credit where due-these words were written by Johnny Ramirez and Jaci Velasquez and are an excerpt from Jaci's song entitled , "I promise" .

Oh dear, thanks for pointing that out. I wrote this late at night (well, late for me that is) and left out the author. I don't think to much harm was done though, because just about all my friends know this song and who wrote it, but I still hope you aren't too offended.

I'm also sorry to be technical, but the comma before 'I promise' in your sentence is dangling and the period needs to be placed inside the quote marks. Your dashes are also skewed.

Not shunning proper grammar is important, too -- especially when constructively criticizing someone.
