Our day in Seattle (Angie and Kimi's version)

One Of Seven
Saturday, May 28, 2005

So Angie and I stayed up so late last night. We could barely get up this morning. It seemed like each time we were ready to stop talking, we would think of something else to say and begin a whole new conversation that lasted hours:) We actually could have stayed in bed a lot longer, but I set my alarm way to early and we couldn't get back to sleep after it had blasted our ears off. We where a bit late picking up the other girls, Jillian and Rachel because there where some things I "had" to show Angela;)

Okay, so this is Angela now,
Well, we had know idea were we were going and after driving in circles for an hour or so, we ended up in the parkade (how fortunate) :-) We started out at Pike Street market were Mrs. Sebens and Kristi left us saying they would call us whenever! Knowing us, we stayed at Pike Street for only four minutes and then hit the malls. MAY THE FUN BEGIN!!!

Kimi now, the malls in Seattle are AWESOME!! They are so huge; thank goodness we had a wonderful tour guide with us aka Jillian Hazel:) Rachel also had a pretty good idea of where we were going. Angie and I being the mature, grownup ladies that we are did not head straight for the clothes, shoes, and makeup. No, we saw something else far more interesting......ESCALATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, how we love those stairs that go up and down. We even tried to take on a challenge by running up the escalator that was going down:) Yeah, we were having fun. Jill gave us an odd look and said "You girls don't get out of Bellingham enough!" To which we replied "Yes, we do!" Rachel then had to add "well, we sure can't tell." Hmm...Rachel? Where you embarrassed of us?

Angie now, after such an exciting adventure we went straight to Nordstrom and had a makeover done. This lady started putting this lip gloss on my lips, and after that, she told me that this lip gloss had pepper in it and it was going to start to burn and bring out the color in my lips (mind you, after she put it on she told me this). Kimi had wondered off at this point and was looking at rings. We all, (Jillian, Rachel and I) thought it would be fun to have Kimi come and try this WONDERFUL lip gloss! We ran and got her and the lady put it on and after a minute Kimi said "weird, my lips are starting to burn!!!" ;)

Me again...uh Kimi that is, So we all got free makeovers with this eye shadow that was supposed to make our eyes "stand out." (Is this to girlie for some of you?) Now with our makeup on we were ready to take on all of Seattle! It turned out that we took on Seattle in groups of two. Jillian and Rachel went off somewhere and Angie and I where left to ride the Escalators alone. Did I mention how much fun they are? We went to a billion different stores tried on basically all that we liked without buying hardly a thing. Are ya'll impressed?

It was day full of; drum role please....
Escalators (we estimated we went up and down 30 times each)
Shopping
Break dancing
running through fountains
Counting Starbucks coffee shops (there where nine in just three blocks of each other!)
Text-messaging Jill, trying to figure out where she and Rachel where.
Eating
Spending the second half of the day searching for sun dresses
Seeing live crabs in a tank (it was horrid, these crabs where about to die for some selfish person who doesn't even like crabs in the first place)
Sun tanning
Almost watching Star wars three in this HUGE theatre. (We decided we could do that back in sweet, little Bellingham someday.)
Trying on rings
Dreaming of going on the cruise ship that was about to depart from the port.

It was a marvelous, wonderful day, one that we shall never forget.
Goodnight dear peoples, we are more than a little tired. We won't mind if you fall asleep and never awake:)
Szia! Kimi and Angie

Thanks Mother dearest for taking me and my friends down there, you truly are the best!

Good evening all!!

I’m so excited right now!!! The Sonics finally won a game. They are now tied in the series. Luke Ridnour did wonderfully! So did Ray Allen and Antonio Daniels. After the game I was so keyed up I couldn’t sit still so I ran 3 miles on my treadmill. That was awesome! I thought it was wonderful the way Luke gave all the credit to God. Both times the news people asked him to comment on some part of the game he said that it was all because of the Lord. I’m so proud of him for speaking up like that!

Okay, onto other things, as you have noticed most of my postings are not on one topic, but on a bunch of different things. Hope you don’t mind cause that’s how this one is going to be. I guess I’m just not a very gifted writer. Part of the reason I got a blog was just to get practice for the new SAT. UGH! Why did they have to add in a whole new writing section? I thought the old one was just fine.

Anyway, on to other things, this morning Kristi had quite the adventure. First of all she was called into work and only had about an hour to get ready. I had tried to wake her up earlier than that, but I’m afraid she is much like Sleeping Beauty and simply won’t awake. When she finally did get up she was in an awful hurry to get out the door in time. Then the unthinkable happened, our bathroom door upstairs has been a very large pain for a couple of months. It all started when one day I got locked in there, actually I wasn’t really locked the door just wouldn’t open and I wasn’t strong enough to break it down. I ended up being in there for over an hour until my Uncle could come rescue me. You would think we would have learned our lesson and bought a new door, but NO, we did not and the consequences where sad. Kristi was locked in there for a loooooong time. While my Father was getting some tools to break down the door I decided to keep her company. I started singing in a real loud voice “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen.” Kristi wasn’t to thrilled about the choice of song so I started reading to her and that didn’t go over so great either. I then told her that Mom and Dad decided that this was the type of problem that you if ignore it long enough, it would eventually go away. Yeah, I don’t think I was much help. My Dad finally got the door unlocked and even though we were all a bit late it turned out fine. Kristi even found some hidden curling irons, so she was able to do part of her hair.

I wanted to say something else, but now I totally forget. Oh well, maybe it will come to me later. Has anyone else noticed how much I say the word I? It’s really quite pathetic, It’s okay if you tell me that I’m to consumed with myself. (I really hope I’m not.)

Catch ya’ll at the fields tomorrow, unless of course it’s rained out or something. Don’t worry, this week I am NOT praying for rain. It’s the last game I get to play before becoming an adult!! *YIKES*

BTW, has any else noticed that this post is really, really long? I guess I’m just having fun typing, don’t worry if you don’t want to read it all. My feeling won’t be hurt a bit.

Well, I'm off to visit the Queen, actually I'm just going to go outside. I keep hearing this siren noise and it's starting to freak me out, I really don't like being home alone.
Sizia! (My Aunt taught me that, it means "See ya later" )

"Oh Canada"

As been the tradition for the past 3 years, on Mother's Day our whole family drives up to Canada to eat out at an Indian restaurant.

The day started out lovely, actually let me begin with yesterday. Around 9:00 or so Kaylie went upstairs to get Grandma ready for bed, she came screaming downstairs yelling for Mom and saying "THERE IS BLOOD EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!" Mom, Kelsey and I went racing upstairs to see what was wrong. Grandma had somehow fallen and hit the back of her head on her desk. She didn't want to bother us so she had tried to take care of it herself. Needless to say that wasn't working, there was blood on everything. Anyway, we thought that we wouldn't be able to go out on Mother's Day because Grandma might be hurt really bad and need to go the emergency room for stitches. Luckily Mom, being the excellent nurse that she is and of course Kelsey and I being the wonderful helpers that we are were able to get everything under control in just an hour. (Kelsey almost fainted when she was in there:)

Okay, so that didn't really have anything to do with today:) After a wonderful sermon by Pastor Steve, we raced out of church and headed to Canada. Karin, Kelsey and I were in one car while the rest were in the van. It was only supposed to be a twenty minute drive, but it ended up being over an hour cause in Canada everything is so weird! We had to turn around twice and figure out where we were. It wasn't so bad though, because whenever my sisters and I are together we have a crazy, super, good time:) On the way there we picked out our dream houses and I even decided where I wanted to die, I think I was having the most fun. After a while Kelsey fell asleep in the back and Karin was so wrapped up in classical music I was left talking to myself. That was okay, I love talking to myself, we always agree!

This is getting really long and really boring, so I don't think I'm going to write anymore. Someday I'll tell you about the "border search" and the "alligators". (Okay, so maybe there weren't any alligators)

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day and don't forget to tell your Mom at least five things that you love about her:)

*SIGH*

This was going to be a perfect day, but sadly it never even got started:( See, my friend in Seattle e-mailed and called me last night asking if I would go to a Mariner game with her today a friend at her work had given her some tickets. My first thought was YES!! I don't have work today so I thought I could go. My Mother was not so into the idea. She had this crazy thought that if she let me drive down to Safeco Field by myself that I would be forever lost and never return home. (I ask you; where would she get an idea like that?)

Second Life Crushing disappointment:
In the e-mail my friend had written me she also asked if I would want to go to Silverwood with her and some of our other friends. I LOVE Silverwood! Not just for the rides, but also for these hilarious shows that they have going on during the day and don't forget the Ice-Princess play and then the food and the whole "You feel like you've entered an enchanted Victorian Town" feeling. (I know, that was a major run-on sentence, who cares?)
I was starting to feel not so bad about missing the M's game when my Dearest Mother pointed out the dates to me. Silverwood was right when I was going to be in N.C. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really have no right to feel disappointed. I get to do amazing, fun things all the time. I guess I'll just have to suck it all up and realize that there are more important things to moan about.......................BUT IT'S SILVERWOOD.............WITH MY FRIENDS I NEVER GET TO SEE.............ok Kimi, be a big girl........

Awesome People!

The people I work with are AWESOME!!!! No joke:) Just a little while ago a guy named Chip called down to production and said that he needed a whole bunch of product within the hour. So Kelsey and I were frantically trying to get it all done for him. Thankfully we did and when I told him so on the phone he's all like "God bless you". Then he says, "Kimi, what do you feel like right now." So of course I said a chocolate chip cookie, not taking him seriously. He laughs and then hangs up the phone. 10 minutes later he comes walking down to production with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR huge cookies!

I think everybody I know should work at Logos so you could meet all these wonderful people.
BTW, they would be wonderful even if they didn't buy me cookies:)
